Breanne Lott

Dr. Lott is a global scholar and educator. Her research centers on global cancer inequities and improved cervical cancer screening programs in low-resource contexts. Among her teaching experiences, Dr. Lott has TA’d a graduate level global health course, co-instructed a Global Leadership Academy, and designed and co-directed a spring break study abroad program. Her teaching philosophy leverages experiential learning, equity and inclusion, and empathy and affect for culturally relevant pedagogy (Ladson-Billings, 1995). Breanne is especially adept working with international students and global student groups, such as Mastercard Foundation Scholars and Al-Ghurair Foundation for Education Scholars, and is certified through a Global Advocacy Program. In Fall 2020, Breanne received an Arizona State University SUN Award for exemplary service, supporting student success, valuing diversity, and serving international students.

As a pathway fellow, Dr. Lott is looking to expand her teaching knowledge, skills, and practice through an evidence-based teaching online course, interdisciplinary faculty learning community, and co-teaching opportunity. Ultimately, Dr. Lott hopes to apply this newly acquired knowledge as an Assistant Professor of Public Health or Global Health in the years to come.
