New to the Office of Academic Affairs
Gail Burd, Senior Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, recently hired three professional associates to join her team. Below is a brief introduction and professional background description.

Tina Deemer, M.S., joins the office as Director of Academic Resources and Special Projects. Prior to this position, Ms. Deemer worked full time as the Director of Academic and Support Services for the Department of Mathematics at the University of Arizona where she spent nearly 30 years as an instructor and an administrator. She will remain in her former role part time as she takes on this new endeavor. In addition to teaching, her experience includes training and mentoring new instructors, curriculum development, course coordination, scheduling, and management. Please welcome her to her new position.

Shelley McGrath, Ph.D., joins the office as Manager of Evaluation and Communications. Prior to this position, Dr. McGrath was the Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs at the Arizona Board of Regents in Phoenix, Arizona. Her background includes 18 years of experience in higher education including program/project management, assessment, institutional analysis, instruction, consulting, policy reform, communications, operations management, and student advisement. Prior to working for the Arizona Board of Regents, Dr. McGrath worked here in the Office of Academic Affairs. Please welcome her back to the university and Tucson!
